Rotary 7070 Foundation Walk - Sept 8 2019
The annual District 7070 walk is in support of the Rotary Foundation. This year it was held at the Humber College Lake Shore campus within the Colonel Samuel Smith Park on Sunday September 8, 2019. Participants enjoyed a leisurely morning as they strolled through the park in this beautiful college campus and the surrounding expansive Colonel Samuel Smith Park and its waterfront trails.

The Power House is a masonry steam plant and stack built in 1937 to service the nearby Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital. It is the only built structure in Colonel Samuel Smith Park, a secluded natural sanctuary of wooded areas, meadows, long grasses and trails near the mouth of the Humber River along Toronto’s western lakefront. The development of the Power House into a new outdoor recreational facility coincides with the revitalization of the surrounding park, the Lakeshore Yacht Club and Marina, and the Ontario Waterfront Trail that runs adjacent to the site.
