2020 July 16 Steve Rutledge - Laos Water Project - Zoom
Steve loading a filtering water tank. Not shown is the clay pot inside which effectively removes over 99% of the bacteria, greatly reducing disease in the communities
Made in Champasak province, Laos, these economical and durable gravity-fed water purification filters are highly effective at removing bacteria, protozoa, parasitic worms, turbidity and other suspended solids, all of which can contribute to major health issues such as liver and kidney failure. Additionally, the pores of the ceramic filter are "infused with anti-bacterial silver to provide a permanent secondary defense." (laowater.com) Before each rural village family can receive a water filter, one member from each family must take a hygiene course to learn how to maintain it properly.
