Oct 17 Willis Rudy - My Life in Nepal
Nepal is a beautiful, multi-ethnic country in the heart of South Asia. During the years 1958 through 1961, Nepal was undergoing a significant transition, as King Mehendra working with a newly elected parliament, the constitution and party politics, continued the struggle for social and economic improvement.
Willis is a long standing RTW member who recently published a book entitled "My Life in Nepal – 1958 – 1961". He shared many stories and photos with us, and explained the challenges faced in travelling to remote destinations crossing many rugged mountains. Notwithstanding, he marvelled at the beautiful scenic views as well as the positive experiences and achievements he enjoyed while helping the people of Nepal. Here we are camped at a District Head quarter town of Silgardi. We are camped on the town common and as noticed, we created a lot of interest. This is early in the morning with Dr. Carl shaving before breakfast. We put up rope barriers to give ourselves more room to move around in our space.
